Delete your account

In the app (fastest)

1. Open BidChess and sign in.
2. Tap Profile.
3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Deletion happens immediately. You are signed out on every device.

Without the app

If you no longer have the app or can't sign in, email privacy@bidchess.example from the email address of your account, with your username. We will confirm it's your account and delete it within 30 days (usually much sooner). We never ask for your password.

What is deleted

• Your email address and password hash: deleted immediately.
• All your sessions (signed-in devices): revoked immediately.
• Any game in progress is resigned first, and open invites are cancelled.
• Your username is replaced with an anonymous name such as "deleted_3fa9c2d1"; your old username becomes free again.

What is kept, and for how long

• Finished games stay in your opponents' history, linked only to the anonymous name.
• Security audit log entries (which can include an IP address) are kept for up to 90 days, then deleted.
• Backups roll over every 30 days, so your data also leaves the backups within 30 days.
• Reports about rule-breaking may be kept while they are relevant to keeping the game safe.
